Maggie Carey is an American film and television director, screenwriter and producer. She was raised in Boise, Idaho, and earned a BA in English literature from the University of Montana and an MFA in film production from the University of Texas at Austin.

Carey wrote and directed the 2013 feature film *The To Do List*. She has directed episodes of numerous comedy series, including *Silicon Valley* (2014), *Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt* (2015–2019), *Brooklyn Nine-Nine*, *Barry*, *Love* and *The Last Man on Earth*.

She was previously married to actor and comedian Bill Hader.
