## Biography

Mako Kamitsuna is an American film editor, director and writer. Born in Houston, Texas, she was raised in Hiroshima, Japan. She earned a BA in philosophy from Columbia University and an MFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Her editing credits include the features *Blackhat* (2015), *Mudbound* (2017) and the documentary *We Are X* (2016), for which she shared the Special Jury Award for editing at the Sundance Film Festival. She edited episodes of the series *Westworld* (2018) and *Perry Mason* (2020), and has served as consulting producer on *Shōgun* (2024). Kamitsuna has also directed and written several short films.
