## Biography

Makoto Bessho (別所 誠人) is a Japanese anime director, animator and storyboard artist.

He began working in animation in the 1980s and later contributed as an episode director and storyboard artist on series such as *Death Note* (2006). Bessho made his directorial debut with *Shangri-La* (2009) and has directed episodes of *Attack on Titan* (2013).

His other directing credits include *Aldnoah.Zero* (2014), *Re:Creators* (2017) and the *IDOLiSH7* series (2017–2023).
