## Biography

Mann Rubin (11 December 1927 – 12 October 2013) was an American film and television screenwriter. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he served in the US Army from 1945 to 1947 and earned a BA from New York University in 1952. He began his career writing science fiction stories for DC Comics titles including *Mystery in Space* and *Strange Adventures*, and later contributed to *Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine*.

Rubin wrote for numerous television series from the late 1940s to the 1990s, with credits including episodes of *Studio One in Hollywood*, *Tales of Tomorrow*, *Perry Mason*, *The Fugitive* (1963), *Mission: Impossible* (1966), *The Rockford Files* and *Dynasty*. His feature film work included the screenplay for *The Best of Everything* (1959, co-written with Edith Sommer), *Brainstorm* (1965), *Warning Shot* (1967), *An American Dream* (1966) and *The First Deadly Sin* (1980). He also taught screenwriting at the University of Southern California for more than ten years.
