## Biography

Mara Leveritt is an American investigative reporter and author. She has covered crime, police, courts and prisons in Arkansas for more than thirty years, with a focus on cases widely viewed as miscarriages of justice.

Her best-known book, *Devil’s Knot: The True Story of the West Memphis Three* (2002), examines the 1993 murders of three eight-year-old boys in West Memphis and the convictions of three teenagers. The book was adapted into a feature film in 2013. Leveritt appears as herself in the 2012 documentary *West of Memphis*. Other works include *The Boys on the Tracks* (1999) and *Dark Spell* (2014).
