Marcello Pagliero (also credited as Marcel Pagliero) was an Italian film director, actor and screenwriter. Born in London in 1907, he moved to Italy as a child and studied law before working as a translator and screenwriter from the early 1940s.

He is known for his performance as resistance leader Giorgio Manfredi (also known as Luigi Ferraris) in Roberto Rossellini’s *Rome, Open City* (1945). He co-wrote the story for Rossellini’s *Paisan* (1946), which received an Academy Award nomination for original screenplay. Pagliero directed films including *Roma città libera* (1946) and moved to France in 1947, where he continued directing until the early 1960s and later worked in French television.
