She was born on 1 August 1924 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of actress Freda Jones, and made her screen debut as an infant in *Mannequin* (1926). Jones appeared in *The Champ* (1931), *Night Nurse* (1931), *These Three* (1936), *Heidi* (1937) as Klara Sesemann and *The Little Princess* (1939) as Lavinia. Her film career continued into the 1940s before she moved largely to television roles. She appeared in *The Way We Were* (1973) and other television series into the early 1980s. Jones was married to Robert Chic from 1943 to 1951 and to television writer Bill Davenport from 1955 to 1963.
