## Biography

Marco Pennette is an American television writer and producer. Born on 9 July 1966 in Greenwich, Connecticut, he studied at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, where he was a finalist in the Young Playwrights Festival. He began in theatre, interning for Harold Prince, before selling a script to the sitcom *Kate & Allie* and relocating to Los Angeles in 1989.

Pennette has written for and produced numerous series. His credits include creating and executive producing *Caroline in the City* (1995–1999) and writing episodes of *What I Like About You* (2002), *Ugly Betty* (2006–2007) and *Samantha Who?* (2008–2009). He wrote for *Desperate Housewives* (2009–2012) and served as co-executive producer and later showrunner. He also contributed teleplays and stories to *Mom* (2014–2020) and created *B Positive* (2020–2022).

Pennette has received Writers Guild of America and other awards for his television work. He later returned to theatre, writing the book for the Broadway musical *Death Becomes Her* (2024), which earned a Tony Award nomination.
