He appeared as Ravello in *Beat the Devil* (1953) and played the recurring role of Lo smilzo (Smilzo) in the Don Camillo film series, including *The Little World of Don Camillo* (1952), *The Return of Don Camillo* (1953), *Don Camillo's Last Round* (1955), *Don Camillo: Monsignor* (1961) and *Don Camillo in Moscow* (1965). Born in Rome, Tulli began acting while still a university student at the end of the Second World War. He became a prolific supporting player in Italian comedy films, often in roles of curious or nosy characters.
