## Biography

Marco Zappia was an American television editor. He began his career in 1968 at CBS, having previously worked as a television repairman, initially as an engineer in the videotape department before moving into editing.

Over more than four decades he edited hundreds of episodes of series including *All in the Family* (95 episodes), *Archie Bunker's Place* (97 episodes), *Who's the Boss?* (188 episodes), *Home Improvement* (203 episodes), *Dinosaurs* and *MacGyver*. Zappia received 18 Emmy nominations and won twice, first for *Hee Haw* in 1971 and again for the 1980 special *Christmas in the Holy Land*. He contributed to the development of the multicamera Avid Editing System and was the first editor to use it for a multicam sitcom on an episode of *Home Improvement*.

Zappia died on 22 December 2013 in Ventura, California.
