Margaret Wycherly was an English actress who appeared in stage productions and films. Born Margaret De Wolfe in London in 1881, she spent many years in the United States and was primarily known for her work on Broadway before taking character roles in Hollywood.

Her screen credits include *The Thirteenth Chair* (1929), *Sergeant York* (1941) as Mother York, for which she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress, *Random Harvest* (1942), *The Yearling* (1946) and *White Heat* (1949) as Ma Jarrett. She continued stage work alongside her film appearances and retired after *The President's Lady* (1953). Wycherly died in New York City in 1956.
