## Biography

Mari Hoshino (also credited as 高野真理 and Mari Takano) is a Japanese actress and singer. She was born on 27 July 1981 in Kamifukuoka, Saitama (now Fujimino). She graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University with a degree in French literature.

Hoshino is known for her long-running role as Otome Sakamoto in the TBS drama series *Kinpachi-sensei* (1995–2011) and for her lead role in the 2001 drama *Platonic Sex*. Her film credits include *Infection* (2004) as a nurse and *Air Doll* (2009). She appeared as a mother in the 2026 film *Sheep in the Box*.

She has also released several CDs and photographic books. In 2011 she married TBS announcer Takahiro Takano.
