## Biography

Marietta Marich was an American actress. Born Marietta Cox in Dallas, Texas, she began performing as a child and became a prominent stage actress in Houston from the 1950s. She also hosted the television talk show *Midnight with Marietta* on KPRC and sang with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra.

Marich made her screen debut in *Courtship* (1987). She appeared in supporting roles in films including *Simple Men* (1992), *Leap of Faith* (1992), *Children of the Corn IV: The Gathering* (1996), *Rushmore* (1998) as Mrs. Guggenheim, *The Texas Chainsaw Massacre* (2003) and its prequel *The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning* (2006) as Luda Mae Hewitt, and *House of Good and Evil* (2013).

She was married to Robert Marich from 1952 until his death in 2012. Marich died in Houston on 28 September 2017.
