## Biography

Marilù Parolini (born Maria Ludovica Parolini) was an Italian screenwriter and photographer. She moved to Paris in 1957 and worked as a secretary at *Cahiers du cinéma* from 1960 to 1962, where she met members of the French New Wave. She also appeared as herself in Jean Rouch and Edgar Morin's cinéma vérité documentary *Chronicle of a Summer* (1961).

Parolini worked as a still photographer on several New Wave films. She later collaborated as a screenwriter with Bernardo Bertolucci on *The Spider's Stratagem* (1970) and with Jacques Rivette, to whom she was married for a time, on *L'Amour fou* (1969), *Duelle* (1976) and *Noroît* (1976). She also worked with directors including Pier Paolo Pasolini and Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet. Parolini died in 2012.
