Marisa Pavan, born Maria Luisa Pierangeli, was an Italian actress. She made her screen debut in *What Price Glory* (1952) and achieved recognition for her role as Rosa Delle Rose in *The Rose Tattoo* (1955).

For the performance she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress and won a Golden Globe Award in the same category. She accepted the Academy Award for Best Actress on behalf of Anna Magnani, who was absent from the ceremony.

Pavan appeared in films including *The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit* (1956) and *Solomon and Sheba* (1959). She was married to the French actor Jean-Pierre Aumont from 1956 until his death in 2001. She died in Gassin, France, on 6 December 2023.
