## Biography

Mark Beesley is a New Zealand director, producer and writer. He began directing television in the 1990s and has worked extensively on fantasy and drama series.

Beesley directed ten episodes of *Xena: Warrior Princess* (1995) and episodes of *Hercules: The Legendary Journeys* (1995). He later directed nine episodes of *Legend of the Seeker* (2008), for which he also served as producer on thirty episodes, and episodes of *Spartacus* (2010), *Ash vs Evil Dead* (2015) and *The Brokenwood Mysteries* (2014). Other credits include *Outrageous Fortune* (2005), *The Almighty Johnsons* (2011) and *Power Rangers: Mystic Force* (2006).

He won the New Zealand Screen Award for Best Achievement in Directing – Drama/Comedy Programme for *The Insiders Guide to Happiness* (2004) and the Qantas Television Award for Best Director (Drama) for *Outrageous Fortune*.
