## Biography

Mark Burnell is a novelist and screenwriter. He was born in Northumberland and grew up in Brazil before returning to Britain.

His debut novel, *The Rhythm Section*, is the first in the Stephanie Patrick thriller series and was adapted into a 2020 film, for which Burnell wrote the screenplay. Subsequent novels in the series include *Chameleon*, *Gemini* and *The Third Woman*.
