## Biography

Mark Haddon is an English writer of novels, children's literature, poetry, screenplays and radio drama. He is best known for the novel *The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time* (2003), which won the Whitbread Book of the Year and the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize.

Haddon wrote the BBC television film *Coming Down the Mountain* (2007), directed by Julie Anne Robinson and starring Nicholas Hoult and Tommy Jessop. It was adapted from his earlier Radio 4 afternoon play, which won a Sony Radio Academy Award. His other novels include *A Spot of Bother* (2006).
