## Biography

Mark Irwin is a Canadian cinematographer. Born on 7 August 1950 in Toronto, Ontario, he studied at the University of Waterloo before completing a film programme at York University in 1973.

He began his career shooting documentaries and low-budget features in Canada. Irwin collaborated extensively with director David Cronenberg on films including *Fast Company* (1979), *Scanners* (1981), *Videodrome* (1983), *The Dead Zone* (1983) and *The Fly* (1986). He later worked with Wes Craven on *Wes Craven's New Nightmare* (1994) and *Scream* (1996), and with the Farrelly brothers on *Dumb and Dumber* (1994), *Kingpin* (1996), *There's Something About Mary* (1998) and *Me, Myself & Irene* (2000).

Irwin moved to Los Angeles in 1987 and has additional credits including *10 Things I Hate About You* (1999) and *American Pie 2* (2001). He has received several Canadian Society of Cinematographers awards for his work.
