## Biography

Mark Morocco is a writer and emergency medicine physician. He began his career as an actor, studying at Yale and appearing in stage productions and guest roles on television series including *The Golden Girls*.

After a serious accident prompted a career change, he earned his MD from the University of Southern California and completed his residency at UCLA. While in medical school, he began working as a medical consultant on the series *ER* (1994), later writing episodes over five seasons.

Morocco has since practised and taught emergency medicine at UCLA while continuing occasional media work. He is married to actress Lisa Waltz.
