Mark Povinelli is an American actor and occasional stunt performer. Born on 9 August 1971 in Elyria, Ohio, he graduated from Miami University with a degree in mass communications and a minor in theatre acting.

His stage work includes the role of Torvald Helmer in the Mabou Mines production of *A Doll's House* (retitled *Mabou Mines DollHouse*). On screen he has appeared in films such as *The Polar Express* (2004), *Water for Elephants* (2011), *Mirror Mirror* (2012) and *Nightmare Alley* (2021) as The Major, and in television series including *Modern Family*, *Boardwalk Empire* and *It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia*.

Povinelli has served as president of Little People of America, an organisation advocating for people with dwarfism.
