## Biography

Marsha Stephanie Blake is a Jamaican American actress. Born in Jamaica on 3 May 1974, she emigrated to the United States in the late 1980s. She graduated from Dartmouth College in 1996 and received an MFA from the graduate acting programme at the University of California, San Diego.

Blake has performed in numerous Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, including *The Merchant of Venice*, *Joe Turner's Come and Gone*, *The Crucible*, *An Octoroon* and *Hurt Village*. On television she has appeared in series including *Law & Order: Special Victims Unit*, *Elementary*, *The Blacklist*, *Orange Is the New Black* as Berdie Rogers, *How to Get Away with Murder* as Vivian Maddox, *This Is Us* and *Chicago P.D.*.

She played Linda McCray in the Netflix miniseries *When They See Us* (2019), for which she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie. Film credits include *The Laundromat* (2019) and *An American Pickle* (2020).
