## Biography

Martha Wentworth (also credited as Verna Martha Wentworth) was an American actress. Born in New York City on 2 June 1889, she trained at the National School of Expression and appeared in stage productions from the age of 17 as a protégé of Minnie Maddern Fiske.

She began a long radio career in the early 1920s, with notable roles including the Wintergreen Witch on The Cinnamon Bear. In the 1940s she moved into film, appearing in several Red Ryder Westerns. Her later work included voice roles for Walt Disney Studios as Nanny, Queenie and Lucy in One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961) and as Madam Mim in The Sword in the Stone (1963). She died in Sherman Oaks, California, on 8 March 1974.
