## Biography

Martin Fuhrer is a Swiss cinematographer. Born in Basel on 6 December 1956, he trained in photography in Switzerland before studying cinematography at the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield, England, graduating in 1982.

He began working as a director of photography in the mid-1980s. His credits include the feature films *Lord of the Flies* (1990), *Wilde* (1997), *The Sleeping Dictionary* (2003) and *The Gathering* (2003), as well as episodes of the television series *Agatha Christie's Poirot* (from 1989) and *Agatha Christie's Marple* (from 2004). He has also contributed second-unit photography to *Perfume: The Story of a Murderer* (2006). Fuhrer has been a member of the British Society of Cinematographers since 2003.
