Martin Potter is a British actor. Born on 4 October 1944 in Nottingham, he trained with the National Youth Theatre and worked in repertory theatre in Guildford and Hampstead before making his television debut in 1968.

His breakthrough came in 1969 when Federico Fellini cast him as Encolpio in *Fellini Satyricon*. He went on to appear in films including *Goodbye Gemini* (1970), *Nicholas and Alexandra* (1971) as Prince Yussoupov, *Satan's Slave* (1976), and *The Big Sleep* (1978) as Owen Taylor. On television he played the title role in the 1975 mini-series *The Legend of Robin Hood* and Gaius Calpurnius Piso in the 1985 mini-series *A.D.*.
