## Biography

Martine Carol (born Marie-Louise Jeanne Nicolle Mourer, also credited as Marie-Louise Mourer) was a French film actress. She trained under René Simon and made her stage debut in 1940 and her first credited film appearance in 1943.

She appeared as Lola Montes in *Lola Montès* (1955), directed by Max Ophüls. Among her other roles were those in *Dear Caroline* (1951), a cameo in *Around the World in 80 Days* (1956) and *The Counterfeiters of Paris* (1961). She was married to director Christian-Jaque from 1954 to 1959. She died in Monte Carlo in 1967.
