## Biography

Marvin Chatinover (1927–2026) was an American character actor. Born in Los Angeles, he graduated from Yale University with a BA in American History in 1949, having served in the US Navy during the Second World War at a naval hospital in St. Albans, New York. He worked as a journalist covering business and economics before training as an actor at the Weist-Barron school and moving into performing.

Chatinover appeared in four films directed by Woody Allen: as the Glandular Diagnosis Doctor in *Zelig* (1983), a psychiatrist in the 'Oedipus Wrecks' segment of *New York Stories* (1989), Professor Cole in *Deconstructing Harry* (1997), and Dr Henske in *Small Time Crooks* (2000). He had a recurring role as Dr Walter R. Jerome in the television series *Ed* (2000–2004) and made guest appearances on *Late Night with Conan O'Brien*.
