## Biography

Marvin L. Gunter (1920–2013) was an American cinematographer and camera operator. He began his career in the 1950s in assistant and operator roles before becoming director of photography on several network television series.

Gunter served as director of photography on *St. Elsewhere* for 100 episodes from 1983 to 1987. He held the same role on *Eight Is Enough* for 69 episodes between 1978 and 1981, as well as on the 1987 reunion television film, one episode of *Laverne & Shirley* in 1981, and three episodes of *Delta House* in 1979. Earlier credits include camera operator on *The Boston Strangler* (1968) and first assistant camera on *Roadracers* (1959).
