Mary Halsey was an American actress. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1913, she moved to California with her family in the early 1920s and began working in films in the late 1920s and early 1930s, initially as a chorus girl in Busby Berkeley musicals under the name Mary Jane Halsey.

She appeared in numerous uncredited and bit roles during the 1930s and 1940s, including *42nd Street* (1933) as a chorus girl, *Merrily We Go to Hell* (1932) as a bridesmaid, *Cat People* (1942) as Blondie, *The Seventh Victim* (1943) and *This Land Is Mine* (1943) as a girl. Some short films credit her as Mary Van Halsey. Her sister Betty also worked in films, and an uncle worked as a set designer.
