## Biography

Mary Jane Fort is a costume designer whose credits include the feature films *Metropolitan* (1990), *The Lawnmower Man* (1992), *Wes Craven's New Nightmare* (1994), *Bring It On* (2000), *Scary Movie 2* (2001), *Mean Girls* (2004), *Project Almanac* (2015), *Ouija* (2014) and *Death Wish* (2018).

She holds a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and studied painting. Originally from a small town in Tennessee, she moved to New York intending to work in fashion design. Her first film credit came after responding to a trade advertisement for *Metropolitan*, Whit Stillman’s debut feature; she worked on the production for $200 a week using her own resources and subsequently obtained agency representation.

Fort has also designed costumes for numerous television productions, including multiple episodes of *Will Trent* (2023–2026) and *Fear the Walking Dead* (2016). She created the children’s craft kit Hollywood Costume Designer.
