## Biography

Mary Lampson is a documentary film editor and filmmaker. She co-edited Barbara Kopple’s *Harlan County, U.S.A.* (1976) with Nancy Baker, Mirra Bank and Lora Hays. She also edited three films for Emile de Antonio: *Millhouse* (1971), *Painters Painting* (1973) and *Underground* (1976).

Lampson has worked with directors including Ricky Leacock, D.A. Pennebaker, Tia Lessin and Carl Deal, Lauren Greenfield and Avi Lewis. Her credits include *Trouble the Water* (2008), *The Queen of Versailles* (2012), *This Changes Everything* (2015), *The Islands and the Whales* (2016), *The Bad Kids* (2016), *Eating Animals* (2017) and *Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution* (2020), on which she was co-editor. She produced and directed the dramatic film *Until She Talks* (1981) for PBS’s *American Playhouse* and twenty-five short films for *Sesame Street*.

Lampson is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. She has been a fellow and advisor at the Sundance Institute’s Documentary Editing and Story Lab.
