Marylouise Burke is an American actress. She was raised in Steelton, Pennsylvania, attended Lebanon Valley College and earned a master's degree in English literature from the University of Wisconsin. She moved to New York City at the age of 32 to pursue acting, after working as a copy editor and research assistant.

Burke has appeared in numerous stage productions. She won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Play for her performance in *Fuddy Meers* (1999) and received a nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Play for *Kimberly Akimbo* (2003). Her Broadway credits include the 2002 revival of *Into the Woods* and a 2026 Tony Award nomination for *The Balusters*. She also received the 2014 Obie Award for sustained excellence of performance.

On screen, she is known for roles including Lillian in *Meet Joe Black* (1998), Miles's Mother in *Sideways* (2004), Sue Shelby in the series *Ozark* (2020), and Trixie in *Only Murders in the Building* (2023). Other film appearances include *Mona Lisa Smile* (2003) and *I Love You Phillip Morris* (2010).
