## Biography

Masao Yamazaki is a Japanese art director and production designer. He worked on several films directed by Hiroshi Teshigahara, including *Pitfall* (1962), where he served as art director, and *Woman in the Dunes* (1964), on which he shared production design duties with Tōtetsu Hirakawa.

Yamazaki also contributed art direction and production design to *The Face of Another* (1966). His other credits include art direction on *Hell in the Pacific* (1968) and *The Sands of Kurobe* (1968). He received a Mainichi Film Award for art direction on *Woman in the Dunes*.
