## Biography

Massimo Dallamano (17 April 1917 – 4 November 1976) was an Italian cinematographer, film director and screenwriter. Born in Milan, he began working in the 1940s as a cameraman on documentaries and commercials before becoming a cinematographer, specialising in adventure films. He was also active in Spanish cinema, shooting Los Tarantos (1963).

Dallamano served as director of photography on Sergio Leone's A Fistful of Dollars (1964) and For a Few Dollars More (1965), the latter under the pseudonym Jack Dalmas. He made his directorial debut with the spaghetti western Bandidos (1967) and went on to direct gialli and poliziotteschi including Dorian Gray (1970), What Have You Done to Solange? (1972) and What Have They Done to Your Daughters? (1974). He co-directed the travel documentary Tierra mágica (1959), which was nominated for the Golden Bear. Dallamano died in a car accident in Rome at the age of 59, shortly after completing Colt 38 Special Squad (1976).
