## Biography

Massimo Morante was an Italian guitarist, composer and multi-instrumentalist. He co-founded the progressive rock band Goblin in the early 1970s alongside Claudio Simonetti.

As a core member of Goblin, Morante contributed to several notable film soundtracks, including *Suspiria* (1977), *Dawn of the Dead* (1978) and *Tenebre* (1982). He also worked on scores for *Deep Red* (1975) and *Martin* (1978).

Born in Rome on 6 October 1952, Morante died on 23 June 2022.
