Matt McElaney is an American television writer. Born on 18 March 1987 in Hingham, Massachusetts, he began working in the industry as a production assistant on the animated series *Family Guy* from 2013 to 2014. He subsequently served as a writers' assistant and assistant to producer Steve Callaghan on the programme from 2014 to 2021.

McElaney received his first writing credits on *Family Guy* in 2019. He has since contributed to numerous episodes as a writer, staff writer, story editor and executive story editor. He has also provided assorted voices for the series.

His other writing credits include an episode of *TMI Hollywood* (2013) and four episodes of *Role Players* (2020).
