## Biography

Matt Olmstead is an American television writer and producer. He graduated from California State University, Chico in 1988 and began his career in Hollywood after an agent arranged a meeting with Steven Bochco, who offered him the opportunity to write for the series *NYPD Blue*.

Olmstead wrote multiple episodes of *NYPD Blue* and later served as a producer and executive producer on the show. He has contributed to series including *Prison Break* (2005), where he worked as a writer and executive producer, and co-created *Chicago P.D.* (2014), *Chicago Med* (2015) and *Law & Order: Organized Crime* (2021). He is married to producer Dawn Olmstead.
