## Biography

Matt Porwoll is a cinematographer based in New York. He served as co-cinematographer and co-producer on the feature documentary *Cartel Land* (2015), directed by Matthew Heineman.

The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Special Jury Prize for Best Cinematography (shared). It later received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Cinematography for a Non-Fiction Program (shared) and a Cinema Eye Honors award for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography (shared). Porwoll has worked on other documentaries including *Tigerland* (2019) and the short *All the Empty Rooms* (2025).
