Matthew Alan is an American actor and producer. He trained at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles after studying at Western Kentucky University, and began his career in commercials and small film roles, initially credited as Matthew Gerbig.

He has appeared in numerous television series, including recurring roles as Seth Massey in *13 Reasons Why* (2017–2019), Chris Merrill in *Castle Rock* (2019) and Stephen Havemeyer in *Snowfall* (2018–2023). His guest appearances include *Lovecraft Country* (2020) as Deputy Eastchurch, *The Good Doctor*, *Grey's Anatomy*, *Lost* and *The Mentalist*. Alan has been married to actress Camilla Luddington since 2019.
