Matthew Diamond is an American film and television director, producer and choreographer. Born on 26 November 1951 in Manhattan, New York, he began his career as a principal dancer with companies including the Louis Falco Dance Company and later worked as a choreographer before moving into directing in the 1980s.

He has directed episodes of numerous television series, including 21 episodes of *The Golden Girls* (1985) and several of *Gilmore Girls* (2000). Other credits include *Family Ties*, *Scrubs*, *Desperate Housewives*, *That's So Raven*, *Ugly Betty*, *Jane the Virgin* and *Eureka*. He directed the 1998 documentary *Dancemaker* and the 2008 television film *Camp Rock*.

Diamond was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature for *Dancemaker* in 1999. He has received Primetime Emmy, Daytime Emmy and Directors Guild of America awards and nominations, including for work on *Great Performances: Dance in America*.
