## Biography

Matthew Jacobs is a British screenwriter, director and actor. Born in London on 1 July 1956, he is the son of actor Anthony Jacobs, who appeared in the 1966 Doctor Who serial The Gunfighters.

Jacobs wrote the screenplay for the 1996 Doctor Who television film, in which he also served as co-producer. His other writing credits include the screenplay for Paperhouse (1988), Lassie (1994), the original story for The Emperor's New Groove (2000) and episodes of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles (1992–1996).

He has directed the BBC television films Hallelujah Anyhow (1992) and Mothertime (1998). As an actor, his credits include roles in Boxing Day (2012) and Vice (2018).
