## Biography

Matthew McCauley is a Canadian composer and record producer born on 1 April 1954 in Ottawa, Ontario. The son of composer William McCauley, he began creating film scores as a teenager and grew up in Toronto.

His early credits include the score for *Between Friends* (1973) and, with his father, *City on Fire* (1979). He arranged and co-produced the 1977 hit single 'Sometimes When We Touch' for Dan Hill. McCauley has composed music for television series including *Cagney & Lacey* (one episode, 1983), *The Adventures of Sinbad* (1996–1998) and *Andromeda* (2000–2005).

He has received an Emmy Award, a Leo Award and a SOCAN Domestic Non-Animated Television Series Music Award. McCauley is based in Los Angeles.
