## Biography

Matthew Montoya is an American television writer and producer. He holds an MFA in Writing for Screen & Television from the University of Southern California and a BA in Literature with emphasis in Creative Writing from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

He worked as a writers' assistant and staff writer on the CBS series *The Good Wife* (2009), contributing story, teleplay and written-by credits across seasons three to five. He later wrote two episodes of the Apple TV+ series *Truth Be Told* (2019). Montoya is a three-time Writers Guild of America Award nominee for Best Drama Series as part of the *The Good Wife* writing staff.

He has taught screenwriting at California State University, Long Beach, and previously at Pasadena City College and the University of Southern California.
