Matthias Pilz is a cinematographer. He grew up in Berlin and moved to London, graduating from the National Film and Television School with an MA in Cinematography in 2012. He is based in London.

Pilz's credits include the BAFTA- and BIFA-nominated documentary feature *The Hard Stop* (2015), directed by George Amponsah; *A Patch of Fog* (2015); *The Miner* (2017); and the Netflix series *The Ripper* (2020). His work has screened at festivals including Cannes, TIFF, Sundance and Locarno.
