## Biography

Maurice Cain is a British production designer and art director. Born on 1 September 1945, he has worked extensively in television and film since the 1970s.

He served as production designer on the BBC series *Hamish Macbeth* (1995–1997) and *The Village* (2013–2014). Other notable credits include *Rhodes* (1996), *The Scarlet Pimpernel* (1999), *Foyle's War* (2002), *The Shadow Line* (2011), *An Inspector Calls* (2015) and *Traitors* (2019). Earlier film work encompasses *Nate and Hayes* (1983) and *Max Headroom: 20 Minutes into the Future* (1985).

Cain has received three BAFTA TV Award nominations for production design, for *Foyle's War*, *The Scarlet Pimpernel* and *Rhodes*, and won an RTS Craft & Design Award for *The Max Headroom Show*.
