## Biography

Maurice McEndree, also known as Moe McEndree, was an American producer, editor and actor. Born on 12 September 1931 in Kansas City, Kansas, he served in the Armed Forces and later trained at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York.

He is best known for his work with director John Cassavetes. McEndree produced and edited the independent film *Shadows* (1958), and served as producer and editor (with additional camera work) on *Faces* (1968). He also directed *Self-Portrait* (1973) and held other production roles on several films.

McEndree appeared in small acting roles in films and on television series including *Gunsmoke* and *The Virginian*. He died on 17 May 2003 in Carnation, Washington.
