## Biography

Max Amann (24 November 1891 – 30 March 1957) was a German Nazi Party official and publisher. He served as the first business manager of the Nazi Party and later headed Eher Verlag, the party's official publishing house, which issued *Mein Kampf*. In 1933 he was appointed Reichsleiter for the press and president of the Reich Press Chamber.

Amann appears as himself in Leni Riefenstahl's propaganda film *Triumph of the Will* (1935), credited with viewing a parade of the SA. After the Second World War he was classified as a major offender by a denazification court, sentenced to ten years in a labour camp, and stripped of most of his property. He was released in 1953 and died in Munich.
