Max Ernst (1891–1976) was a German artist who also worked as an actor. He appeared as the Bandit Leader in the Hut in Luis Buñuel and Salvador Dalí's surrealist film *L'Âge d'or* (1930).

Born in Brühl, Germany, Ernst later lived in France and the United States. His other screen credits include an uncredited role in *Dreams That Money Can Buy* (1947) and work on shorts such as *Maximiliana oder die widerrechtliche Ausübung der Astronomie* (1966). He died in Paris, France.
