## Biography

Max Jungk was an Austrian writer and former stage actor. Born in Miskowitz, Galicia, Austria-Hungary (now Miskovice, Czech Republic), he made his acting debut in 1897 in Teplitz and performed in several Central European theatres before appearing in Berlin in 1903. He later worked as a director in Troppau.

From 1918 he wrote screenplays, frequently in collaboration with Julius Urgiß. His credits include *Das Glück der Frau Beate* (1918), *Schlagende Wetter* (1923) and the German-version scenario for *A Throw of Dice* (1929). He became a German citizen in 1931.
