Born on 22 December 1977 in Munich, he studied production and media management at the University of Television and Film Munich, completing his diploma in 2003. While still a student, he co-founded the production company Wiedemann & Berg Film with Quirin Berg in 2003. Their first feature film, *The Lives of Others* (2006), won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. In 2010 they established W&B Television; both companies became part of LEONINE Studios in 2020, where Wiedemann serves as a managing director and co-chief production officer. His credits include the series *Dark* (2017) and films such as *Who Am I* (2014), *Welcome to Hartmanns* (2016) and *Never Look Away* (2018).
